Bhavana – Narayani & Mat Baker

Narayani and Mat Baker are a husband and wife team share a love and passion for devotional music, kirtan and the power of sound. They travel throughout the UK and Europe offering their music and voice workshops wherever they are invited.
Narayani is known for her powerful devotional singing and for facilitating voicework that opens the heart and encourages our highest expression. Over the last 10 years, her journey of yoga led her to discover her own resonant voice. Leading her first Kirtan had such a profound and transformative impact on her life that she chose to offer that same gift to others through Kirtan and voice workshops around the world. Narayani studied voice work with Chloe Goodchild and the Naked Voice and has learnt yoga and trained as a teacher in the lineage of Krishnamacharya  and the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres.
Mat is a singer and multi-instrumentalist. He brings a gentle, transformational quality with his soulful voice and powerful percussion and Bouzouki (Mandolin family) playing. His passion for devotional music began in his childhood in South Africa. His discovered Bhakti Yoga and Kirtan on meeting his wife, Narayani and it quickly became a very natural and integral part of his life and music.   Mat also performs solo, singing devotional folk with his Bouzouki, as well as collaborating with a variety of inspirational World & Devotional musicians.  Mat has studied with a number of master percussion teachers including Glen Velez and Reinhard Flatischler.

Rashmi & Detlef

Detlef Franz studied music at the UdK (University of Arts Berlin) and Physical Education at the FU (Free University Berlin). He played percussion and mallets in several groups in Berlin and orchestras over the last 30 years. He is working in a Reformpedagogik school in Berlin and teaches drama too. He is going to finish his Yoga Teacher training in 2018.
Rashmi (Erika María Rojo) was born in Mexico City, studied Singing Performance at the Manhattan School of Music and achieved her first Yoga training at the Integral Yoga Institute also in New York. She lives in Germany since 1997 and received her second diploma as a Yoga Teacher in Germany at the BDY (Berufsverband der Yoga Lehrenden in Deutschland) EYU (European Yoga Union). She works as a Singing and Yoga Teacher and gives Concerts as a soloist in different ensembles; ranging from Classical to Folklore Music. For many years she has been leading seminars on “ Yoga and Voice Training”, and “Lullabies for the Inner Child in Everybody”.
From the beginning of her music studies in the Manhattan School of Music in New York Rashmi integrated the practice of Yoga in her life, since this practice was a suggestion made from her singing teacher, and it changed her life. Soon after Rashmi got to know that Kirtan was a practice of Yoga and participated in this type of chanting, at that time under the guidance of Ramanandaji, since she was living at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York. She had the opportunity to sing at some festivities and Satsangs at the time when Swami Satchidananda was still alive. In 1997 she moved to Berlin, Germany, and joined a Yoga Center in which, together with her partner Detlef, she participated in Chanting evenings along with other musicians for many years. Rashmi and Detlef have been participated with music in many meditation retreats and festivities at the Yoga Center. They had also the opportunity to participate in a concert and a Kirtan at the Yoga Festival Berlin. Since many years Detlef and Rashmi have been leading singing groups. 2017 the two have started an open “Easy Singing”.
